In a way, this was exactly the kind of thing running through my head at 17 - the need for excellence and exceptionalism, especially at a young age. In part it was because I thought I could be great, in another big part it because I felt I had to let the world know I how great I could be.

Funny enough, I have done plenty but I never actually did something that mattered a good deal to me until I realised that the Greatness that I want to be a part of is a project much bigger than mine... then all of a sudden everything clicked and fell into place, subhanAllah, and I found myself fitting and sticking exactly where I felt I belonged.

I pray your trajectory comes to a satisfying and blessed point too, and there is so much beauty in exploring yourself and your place in the world at 17, so also don't be hard on yourself as you try new things.

Excuse the ramblings of a junior old soul - I could respond to this food for thought for ages - but needless to say the writing itself was brilliant, fluid and emotive, which is why I can connect so easily and deeply with the substance of your message. May Allah bless you! More ink to your pen ♥
